Stopping Abuse in Families Everywhere
In Australia, the reality of where and to whom family abuse occurs shows it can and does happen to all kinds of people in all suburbs. Rotary SAFE Families campaigns for primary prevention of abuse.
Rotary SAFE Families was established in 2018 to help stop all forms of family violence, by addressing its underlying causes. It has evolved into a national program with valuable resources and tools, including films, promotional videos, messages, images, referenced Manual/Toolkit, and monthly Newsletters to assist every Rotarian in every part of Australia to play their part in ‘Stopping Abuse in Families Everywhere’.
With an active website, rotarysafefamilies.org.au and the Rotary Champion Club Program, Rotary Clubs around Australia are signing up to endorse the program's powerful messages to their communities. It is endorsed by scores of Australian Rotary clubs and districts that have provided a Champion from their club to represent and update Rotarians with the latest prevention methods.
This is a “Call for Action” to all Rotarians to help make a difference in the horrific statistics of family abuse to women, men, our elderly and our children, and the need for healthy, respectful relationships.
